POST DOCTORAL
The post-doctoral internship in the Graduate Program at PUC-Rio consists of an academic study characterized by research activity, to be carried out by holders of a PhD title, obtained in GP Stricto Sensu (cf. Ordinance – 54/20119, Art. 1º) .
It will be developed with the supervision of a professor from the main staff, a member of the GP faculty, and in line with his line of research (§1).
The candidate must submit his project to the GP Commission and the duration will be a minimum of 02 (two months) and a maximum of (02 (two) years.

Provides for the post-doctoral internship in the Graduate Program at PUC-Rio.

CONSIDERING the University’s objective of offering research opportunities to young doctors,
RESOLVES:
Art.1 ° – The post-doctoral internship in the Graduate Program of PUC-Rio consists of an academic study characterized by research activity, to be carried out by holders of a Doctor’s degree, obtained in the Graduate Program in Stricto Sensu .
§1 ° – The internship in the Graduate Program will be developed with the supervision of a professor of the main staff, member of the faculty of the Graduate Program, and in alignement with his line of research.
§2 ° – Only a professor accredited to work in the graduate program and who has already completed at least one (01) Ph.D. orientation may supervise an intern in a Graduate Program.
§3° – The candidate for the internship in the Graduate Program must submit a research project in one of the Program’s concentration areas to the Graduate Program Committee.
§4° – The candidate who has his internship project approved, in a Postgraduate Program, must register with the Admission and Registration Directorate (DAR-Direção de Admissão e Registro) of PUC-Rio as a Postdoctoral Intern.
Art. 2 – The candidate for the postdoctoral internship must appear at the Admission and Registration Directorate (DAR-Direção de Admissão e Registro) and apply for admission as a Postdoctoral Intern.
§1° – The candidate may submit his application at any time.
§2° – The candidate must attach the following documents to his application:
1) Letter of request addressed to the Program Coordinator;
2) Copy of the Identity Card and the Individual Taxpayer Register or passport;
3) Copy of Doctoral Diploma, recognized or legally revalidated, when applicable;
4) Updated Curriculum Vitae, preferably extracted from the Lates Platform;
5) Letter of acceptance from the professor indicated to supervise the candidate;
6) Research project and work plan containing a schedule, a list of expected products and, when applicable, a source of funds, and all pages must be initialed by the professor indicated to supervise the candidate.
§3°– After receiving the candidate’s documents, DAR must forward the application to the Department to which the Graduate Program belongs to evaluate the application.
Art. 3 – The post-doctoral internship in the Postgraduate Program will have a minimum duration of 02 (two) months and a maximum duration of 02 (two) years.
§1 ° – The internship period may be renewed.
§2° – The duration of each internship period will be determined through the project proposed by the candidate, with the approval of the granting agency, when applicable, with the approval of the Commission of the Graduate Program in question, and the professor appointed to supervise the postdoctoral intern.
Art. 4 – Participation in a post-doctoral internship in a Post-Graduate Program does not create an employment or functional link between the post-doctoral intern and PUC-Rio.
§1 ° – During the development of the project, the postdoctoral trainee may use the services of PUC-Rio, which is why he must enjoy the status of Postdoctoral Intern at the University.
§2 ° – All bibliographic or artistic production resulting from the internship in the Postgraduate Program must mention, necessarily, the condition of post-doctoral intern in the Postgraduate Program at PUC-Rio.
Art. 5 – At the end of the internship in the Graduate Program, the homologation will be done in 30 (thirty) days after the delivery of the report, as provided for in § 1 ° of this article, and the Admission and Registration Directorate ( DAR) to issue a Postdoctoral Internship Certificate in the respective concentration area, which must be signed by the professor-supervisor and the Program Coordinator.
§1 ° – At the end of the internship, and for the purpose of analyzing the issuing of the Post-Doctoral Internship Certificate, the post-doctoral intern must forward to the professor-supervisor a report of the activities carried out, having as reference the project submitted to the Commission of the Post-Graduation Program when you join it.
§2° – The professor-supervisor must issue an opinion on the postdoctoral intern’s activity report within thirty (30) days, to be forwarded to the Program Coordination for the purpose of issuing the Postdoctoral Internship Certificate by Admission and Registration Directorate (DAR).
Art. 6 – Benefits resulting from external scholarships granted to the postdoctoral intern during his Postdoctoral internship at PUC-Rio, including remaining consumables, will be incorporated into the assets of the Postgraduate Program of PUC-Rio at the end of the internship period.
